twenty-one. california grown. photographer. kitchen enthusiast. follower of jesus.
the thoughtful plate was established in the summer of 2012 in turlock, ca. i’d been reading a few blogs for a few years and finally decided i wanted to try it for myself. i brainstormed a name in one afternoon (i don’t recommend this), registered with wordpress, and made crespelle with ricotta and marinara from food & wine.
my photography was terrible back then, but the love of sharing recipes with friends and whoever else happened to stumble upon this teensy corner of the internet kept me going. and we all have to start somewhere, right?
my favorite room in the house is the kitchen, and i escape there for hours almost every day. i’m not sure that there’s anything more satisfying than taking raw ingredients and combining them to form something wonderful.
i adore vegetables. i’m not afraid of butter or cream. i will always try to sneak a little bit of dark chocolate into breakfast. i eat a big salad most days for lunch, and i rarely skip dessert.
i’m super glad and honored and humbled that you’re here. thanks for reading. i hope you’re inspired to get into the kitchen and make something delicious for yourself and the people you love.
